the brackets refer to exact searches, and the unbracketed results are general searches related to those keywords. This gives you a general idea about which keywords get more searches, and which ones will be better to target in the titles/metatitle and text. After we find a good keyword, we search for related keywords that will be good to target in your website, as well as try and find an exact match domain which we can use for your website if you do not allready have a domain.
